This project, currently named Both-ing, is about what people think and do on the inside as well as the outside. Many people put on masks when they are feeling down or even excited, trying to look a certain way on the outside that doesn’t fit how they really feel on the inside. Some people have that little voice in their head steering them around, trying to distract them or perhaps help them with homework or other tasks. It is more than just our conscience; it is our inside self that only we really see or communicate with. This project shows both sides. In each image there are two figures, one is the body and one is the mind, but the same person portrays them both. This perfect mixture of body and mind, physical and mental, is what makes us human. We need both pieces to be truly alive.
