Loco Mag is seeking college age writers, photographers, videographers, designers, and interviewers to contribute to our latest issue! Loco is a lifestyle and culture magazine always on the hunt for new articles, photospreads, and fresh takes on student perspectives. We’re not strictly a news publication, nor are we a creative writing publication. We want to hear your voice and read real life, tangible stories.
Our upcoming issue will be called Birds of a Feather. First of all – we swear it isn’t just going to be about birds. Sorry to all the ornithologists out there, we’ll try to get one or two pieces in there just for you. With the weather getting colder, birds are migrating, holiday decorations are undusting, and people are coupling. Winter is coming – though perhaps the more ominous statement for college students like us would be finals are coming. What sort of changes do you observe around this time of year? Who do you surround yourself with to get out of a sticky situation? What topics out there do you find eerily similar to one another?
Our sections include Features, Travel, Lifestyle, Entertainment, and the A/V Room (podcasts, videos, etc). Features typically run around 1,500 words. Have more than that? Cool! If not, no worries. We’re an electronic publication so space is unlimited. We’ll accept anything from a 250 word photospread to a 500 word interview to an hour long podcast to a 2-minute video. If nothing, follow this phrase: be creative, be real.
Birds of a Feather will be releasing twice this month, giving you two opportunities to get your work out there.
