Happy Halloween.

Instead of candy, we’ve got some fun and fresh articles just for you. We highly encourage snacking on candy while you read.

Toil & Trouble is inevitably an issue celebrating all things autumnal and spooky. Melissa covers her experiences at Eastern State Penitentiary as a paranormal investigator, Savannah documents the history of the pumpkin spice fever plaguing every 21st century fall season, and Dan discussses the dirty details behind Tarot cards. Dare you to say that last one three times fast.

Beneath the surface, though, Toil & Trouble is about returning to a new, stressful school year, the onset of seasonal depression, and in some ways, a reflection of the Loco Mag’s current state. For the first time ever, we’re publishing on a bi-weekly basis, involving a lot more hard work and unexpected bumps in the road along the way. Hilarity ensues. Cue the laugh track.

If you’re not much of a reader, we’ve got some great video, audio, and visual pieces which might better suit your fancy. Paulie comes back with the new and improved For Loco podcast, Allison debuts her “This Is:” documentary series, and Tatum takes us through a photo tour of Salem, MA.
