People love to travel. Whether it is to the hills of Scotland or the beaches of Wildwood, people love to go out and explore. While traveling can be fun it can also be a huge pain. You have to pack, plan a flight, make sure you have money, and if you are going abroad that can be even more of a hassle. In order to make your travels more peaceful  it is nice to go in with a plan. Lucky for you there are three things you should do no matter where it is you’re traveling to.

1.Find Places to Eat

Food is always top priority in my book. No matter where I go I have to find the best places to eat. This also includes the best places to get coffee. How can you properly explore if you’re falling asleep halfway through the day? Do your research beforehand. Are you a picky eater? Find restaurants that offer food you like. This also applies to allergies;figure out where you can eat ahead of time so you do not waste precious time looking up food. Feeling adventurous?  Find out what kind of food that place is known for. If you go to Maryland are you really going to leave without trying their crab? I didn’t think so.

2. Shopping

If you are anything like me you have several family and friends you have to get souvenirs for. Make your life a little easier by knowing where the shops are. This doesn’t have to happen before the, trip but definitely at the beginning of your trip. If you don’t need, souvenirs I guarantee you forgot something. If you are studying abroad you’re gonna need to shop for basic needs. You can do some price comparisons before hand for simple things like toothpaste or toilet paper. You can also check pricing beforehand, at home you may have spent $100 on groceries but new country new rules. Stores are a crucial part of traveling, even if it’s just for a tube of toothpaste.

3. Pictures

Did you really go anywhere if you don’t have the pictures to document it? You don’t need to know know where you’re going to take your pictures, just be prepared to do this. Whether that means packing up your Canon or stocking up on portable chargers.Just remember, as important as pictures can seem, try not to spend your travels with your eyes in a view finder. Take a step back and really enjoy what is right in front of you.

No matter where you go, I guarantee you will do at least two of these things. Look at it as an easy planning guide. If you have an idea of what you want or have to do, then traveling will be more enjoyable  for you.Whether it is a  Day trip or semester away it is always nice to have a plan.
