Most of the time, people go on vacation to explore, hike, shop, sight-see, etc. Most often, we hear about these action filled vacations. But, sometimes, people just need to get away for a few days and spend it doing… absolutely nothing. Vacations don’t always have to jam-packed with activities, sometimes they are agenda-less and that can be just as rewarding. Here are some tips for places to go when you want a vacation full of absolutely nothing.

A beach or a resort

The beach is a great place to relax. You can lie in the sun and read, sleep, sun tan, play on your phone, whatever it is you like to while listening to the waves. When you aren’t on the beach, you can lay by the pool, get a massage, etc. Whether you go to a foreign resort, or your local beach, the ocean can be a great place for relaxation. For a relaxing trip, try to go to a calm beach, not a beach known for partying.

A cruise

Cruises have many activities during your time at sea, but that does not mean you have to partake. You can spend the whole time relaxing on deck, by the pool, take advantage of the spas, and just enjoy being away from land itself.

A Small Town

If you’re from the city, sometimes it is nice to have a change of pace and get out to a small town surrounded by the countryside. This is also a great idea for people who would like to do some things, but not feel rushed by a list of things to do. You can take a leisurely stroll around the town, exploring local shops and restaurants. Getting away from the city is an occasional must for some, and this is a great way to relax.

Camping

Now, many people associate camping with lots of hiking and exploring, and you can do that on your hiking trip. But if you’re a nature-lover seeking a weekend of nothing, camping is another great idea. You don’t have to do anything you don’t want. If you don’t want to leave your campsite and just enjoy the nature around you, then that’s great. Camping can be so relaxing and rejuvenating, it’s a great way to do nothing.

Your own house!

Ever heard of a staycation? Taking a few days off work doesn’t mean you have to go anywhere or do anything. Stay at home and read, watch movies, bake, knit, do whatever it is you love for a few days and escape the stress of work or school. If you’re feeling up for a little, relaxing outing, take a walk in a local park or visit a spa or go see a movie. You don’t need to travel to have a couple of relaxing days.

If you need a break and want a vacation full of a whole lot of nothing, hopefully this list gave you some ideas. Pick a place that will make you happy and feel at ease, and make sure you set aside some time to relax.
