7,982. That’s the number of pictures I currently have in the photo library on my iphone. I take a lot of pictures, mostly drunk bar selfies and dogs I see on the street, but I do take a lot. I think it’s important to capture memories in the moment, but at the same time it’s also important to live those memories while they’re happening. I live in this complex back-and-forth where I want to be able to reminisce on good memories later in life, but also not wanting to ruin memories while being on my phone the entire timeou know what I mean? Anyway, I took a look through the nearly 8 thousand photos on my phone that span all the way back to 2013. Here’s a compilation of some drool-worthy photos/moments/memories
1.Sunsets- I’ve always had a thing for the sun going down, and I have had the chance to capture some incredible colors the sky has painted in the clouds.
This one is from somewhere in Amsterdam when I studied abroad in 2015. I had been traveling with friends and we were a bit lost finding our way back to our hostel. Stumbled across this view and had to snap a picture. Still one of my favorite sites I have ever witnessed.
I was actually crossing the street when I took this photo. I know, I know. I shouldn’t have stopped in the middle of traffic to take a picture. But do you see that sky?!
Then there’s a whole other ballgame of beach sunsets. Sunsets at the beach are like normal sunsets but 1000 times better.
- San Francisco
Okay maybe it’s not exactly San Francisco, but these pictures are from my trip there so I’m bundling it all together.
Look at this place! This is from Yosemite National Park. Our driver pulled over to let us take pictures, and I’ve got about 50 versions of this photo that are all slightly different but basically the same. It was one of those moments where I wanted to stare into the mountains forever. You could say this was a drool worthy view.
Japanese Tea Garden, which is actually in San Francisco. This place was an unexpected stop on our trip and ended up being insanely beautiful with some shaped bushes.
- Art
Again, another 3 year old study abroad picture. But hey- the Mona Lisa is pretty drool worthy and so are me and fellow Loco Mag writer Julia Lunavictoria. Circa 2015
One of my favorite pieces of art ever. Rodin’s sculpture Eternal Spring from the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. I could stare at this for hours.
- City skylines
This was taken on top of a Whole Foods somewhere in South Philly I believe. There was a flea market, yes a flea market, on top of the building and this was the view.
The view from the top floor garden at the MET in New York. I remember it was freezing but I forced my friends to come outside to see this with me.
- FOOD
I’ve discussed in a previous article my vegan diet, but that doesn’t mean I only eat salads and forage plants from the woods. I eat a LOT of food, some of it looks gross but some of it looks great, like this vegan cheesesteak I had from a place back home in Delaware County.
If you haven’t had Uncle Oogies pizza yet, what are you doing!!! They have vegan, gluten free, and normal pizza options so basically there is something for everyone here.
The best part is that they have a Philadelphia location and a location in Sea Isle City, NJ(the beach I go to in the summer!) too. Every time I come here my mouth waters from the time I order food to the last bite of pizza I take and now I’m hungry from writing this!
- Cats in Bathtubs
I know my cats aren’t the only ones. For some reason my cat and my old roommate’s cat LOVE to lay in our bathtub. Maybe it’s because the tub is a cooler place to lay, or they like the water that drips from the faucet, but it’s incredible. There have been quite a few times I have come home from the bar and my cat is sitting in the bathtub basically waiting for me to come pet him and it’s one of the best experiences ever. I sometimes think my cats do these silly things because they know I’m going to scream “AWWWW!” and come give them attention. Who knows, but I love it.
