A quick search on Google of “the best pick-up lines” gives you countless articles and even more Reddit and Tumblr threads with different pick-up lines people have deemed the most fruitful. I personally deem them absurd. So absurd and so not funny it’s ridiculous.
Pick-up lines are an art: an art in speaking, an art of words, and, if used correctly, a sign of intelligence. Through these simple sentences, one attempts to create a beginning of a relationship, meet like-minded people, and flirt. The pick-up lines found through a Google search, on the other hand, completely set one up for humiliation. The sexual ones are the worst, because it’s a great idea to approach someone with their genitalia in mind, and the rest are really just dumb. People couldn’t have gotten less creative.
