Loco Mag is seeking college-age writers, photographers, videographers, designers, and interviewers to contribute to our latest issue! Loco is a lifestyle and culture magazine always on the hunt for new articles, photo spreads, and fresh takes on student perspectives. We are not strictly a news publication or a creative writing publication. We want to hear from you. We want your stories in your voice and your words.

The beginning of a new school year is always a stressful time, so here at Loco, we figured we’d kick off this new academic year with something fun, lighthearted, and relatable. Enter issue #72: Welcome to Flavortown.

Everybody knows Guy Fieri right? The frosted tips, the elaborate button-up shirts, and of course an undeniable affinity for flames. He and his iconic catchphrase have been gracing the TV screens of millions since 2006(!) on various Food Network shows, most notably Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. Fieri is known for being high-energy and chaotic, which is exactly the type of energy we’re hoping to channel with this issue. So bring on the crazy recipes, wild fashion choices, and even discussions of early-2010’s TV. We can’t wait to hear about all of it!

Need some inspiration? Here are some keywords to get you started: food, flavorful, spice, style icons, style eye-cons, sunglasses, fire, frosted tips, welcoming, mmmmm, coming home, short king, new classes, new semester, places to eat, recipes, big challenges, catch phrases, musard, chicken sandwich, the promised land, funny shirts/button-ups, and travel.

Our sections include Travel, Lifestyle, AV Room (Audio/Photo/Video), Entertainment, Mood, and Features. Features typically run around 1,500 words. Have more than that? Cool! If not, no worries. We’re an electronic publication so space is unlimited. We’ll accept anything from a 250-word photo spread to a 500-word interview to an hour-long podcast to a 2-minute video. Be creative, and tell your truth.
