Birds of a Feather has taught me more about birds than I ever thought I’d want to know. On top of that, this issue single-handedly revealed, and then fixed a deficit in bird-related articles this magazine didn’t even know it had.

From beak to talon, we’ve got you covered with articles like Paulie’s featuring passionate defenses of birds with bad reps, some avian symbolism from Gabby, and of course, it wouldn’t be complete without Katie’s egg-cooking guide. This issue also marks the return of the Expert Advice column, here to provide you with what should absolutely be your go-to guide for navigating those tough questions at the Thanksgiving table.

Beyond birds, though, Birds of a Feather is about trends. It’s about “flocking” towards things (especially in Dawn’s Black Friday article), and about the types of “migrations” and changes that are typical of this time of year. If you’re heading to another place in the coming weeks, be sure to check out Savannah’s article on how to make the airport less of a nightmare.
